Key Features of the 25 Ft Insulated Copper Tube

Refrigeration-Grade Copper Tubing

The copper tubing can be manufactured from C12200 deoxidized high-phosphorus copper for air-conditioning and refrigeration applications. ASTM B280 configurations are available according to the required tube diameter, wall thickness, refrigerant pressure, destination standard, and project specification.

Pre-Flared Ends and Flare Nuts

Both copper tubes can be supplied with factory-prepared flare ends and matching nuts to reduce field preparation. Before connection, the installer should inspect the flare surface, align the joint correctly, and tighten it to the torque specified by the HVAC equipment manufacturer.

Black Closed-Cell Rubber Insulation

The flexible black rubber insulation has a closed-cell structure that helps reduce heat transfer and moisture vapor penetration. It is designed to limit condensation on cold refrigerant piping while providing flexibility around bends and equipment connections.

25 Ft Length for Common Installation Routes

The 25 ft length provides additional routing flexibility when the indoor and outdoor units cannot be positioned close together. Confirm the equipment’s minimum and maximum line-length requirements and determine whether additional refrigerant is required beyond the factory pre-charge allowance.

OEM and Private-Label Supply

Dabund can customize insulation printing, cable configuration, accessories, labels, cartons, barcodes, instruction sheets, cap colors, and logo placement for HVAC distributors, wholesalers, importers, equipment brands, and project buyers.

Black Rubber Pipe Insulation

Black rubber insulation is suitable for refrigerant lines that require flexible, closed-cell thermal insulation. The insulation layer also functions as a vapor-control layer, helping reduce moisture movement toward the cold copper surface when joints and cut ends are sealed correctly.

Closed-cell black rubber insulation for HVAC refrigerant copper tubing

Thermal Insulation

The low-conductivity closed-cell structure helps reduce unwanted heat gain or heat loss through the refrigerant tubing. Correct insulation thickness should be selected according to suction-line temperature, ambient conditions, humidity, and local energy requirements.

Condensation and Moisture Control

Closed-cell rubber insulation helps limit water vapor penetration and surface condensation. All longitudinal seams, butt joints, fittings, flare connections, and damaged areas should be sealed with compatible adhesive, insulation tape, or vapor-resistant material.

Flexible Installation

The flexible insulation can follow gradual pipe bends and supports neat routing through wall penetrations, line-set covers, equipment spaces, and service areas. The copper tube must still be bent within the permitted radius to prevent flattening, kinking, or cracking.

Indoor and Protected Outdoor Applications

For outdoor installation, select an insulation grade with appropriate UV and weather resistance or install a compatible protective jacket or line-set cover. Exposed ends and joints require complete sealing to prevent water entry and insulation deterioration.

Product and Accessory Overview

The product can be supplied as an insulated copper tube pair or configured as a more complete mini split installation kit. Buyers should specify whether they require only the line set or a kit containing communication wire, drain hose, wall sleeve, decorative cap, wrapping tape, and installation accessories.

How to Confirm System Compatibility

A 1/4" x 1/2" line set is commonly used by selected mini split and heat-pump models, but refrigerant pipe size cannot be selected reliably by BTU capacity or tonnage alone. Similar-capacity systems from different manufacturers may require different pipe diameters, wall thicknesses, flare sizes, or refrigerant charges.

Item to VerifyRequired Check
Tube DiameterThe equipment documentation must specify a 1/4" liquid line and 1/2" suction line.
Line LengthConfirm that 25 ft is within the approved minimum and maximum piping range.
Refrigerant ChargeCheck whether the factory charge covers 25 ft or whether additional refrigerant must be weighed in.
Flare and NutVerify flare geometry, nut size, connection material, and tightening torque.
Copper SpecificationMatch tube wall thickness and pressure capability to the refrigerant and system design pressure.
InsulationConfirm thickness, vapor sealing, fire-performance requirements, and outdoor protection.
Electrical CableConfirm conductor count, wire gauge, voltage rating, and local electrical-code requirements.

Installation Recommendations

Installation should be completed by a qualified HVAC technician in accordance with the equipment manual and local refrigerant, electrical, and building requirements. Keep the copper tube ends sealed until connection, avoid sharp bends and kinks, inspect the flares, use the specified torque, pressure-test with dry nitrogen, check for leaks, evacuate the circuit, and charge the system according to the equipment manufacturer’s instructions.

Do not leave insulation joints, flare connections, or exposed copper unsealed. Protect outdoor sections from sunlight, rain, physical damage, birds, and rodents with a suitable jacket or line-set cover where required.

Quality and Test Documentation

Depending on the selected copper and insulation specification, test documentation may be available for ASTM B280, C12200 copper, ASTM E84, UL 94, ASTM D1056, ASTM G21, thermal performance, flame spread, smoke development, and material properties. Buyers should request the current document that corresponds to the exact tube wall thickness, insulation material, insulation thickness, and production configuration being ordered.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a 25 ft 1/4" x 1/2" insulated copper tube set?

It is a paired HVAC refrigerant line set containing a 25 ft 1/4" liquid tube and a 25 ft 1/2" suction tube. Both tubes are insulated, and the standard configuration can include flared ends and flare nuts.

Will a 1/4" x 1/2" line set fit my mini split?

It will fit only equipment that specifies 1/4" liquid and 1/2" suction connections and permits a 25 ft refrigerant run. Check the installation manual and service-valve sizes for the exact indoor and outdoor units.

Is 1/4" x 1/2" always used for 12,000 or 18,000 BTU systems?

No. Some systems in those capacity ranges use 1/4" x 1/2" tubing, but others specify different diameters. Nominal BTU capacity alone is not sufficient for selecting a refrigerant line set.

Are the copper tube ends pre-flared?

Yes. The standard 25 ft configuration can be supplied with factory-flared ends and matching flare nuts. The installer should inspect each flare and tighten the connection to the equipment manufacturer’s specified torque.

Is this line set pre-charged with refrigerant?

The standard product is insulated copper tubing with flared ends, not a universal pre-charged quick-connect line set. The installed refrigerant circuit normally requires leak testing, evacuation, and charging procedures specified by the equipment manufacturer.

Does a 25 ft line set require additional refrigerant?

That depends on the equipment’s factory pre-charge allowance. Some systems include sufficient charge for a defined line length, while others require an additional measured charge. Use only the formula in the model-specific installation manual.

What are the benefits of black rubber insulation?

Closed-cell rubber insulation is flexible and helps reduce heat transfer, moisture vapor movement, and surface condensation. Correct insulation thickness and complete sealing are necessary for effective performance.

Can the insulated copper tubing be installed outdoors?

Outdoor installation is possible when the insulation and protective system are suitable for UV, weather, moisture, and physical exposure. A line-set cover or weather-resistant jacket is recommended where required by the project specification.

Can the 25 ft line set be shortened?

It can be cut and re-flared by a qualified technician when the equipment manufacturer permits a shorter run. The finished length must remain within the equipment’s approved piping range.

Can Dabund customize the insulation and package?

Yes. Custom options include insulation type and thickness, printed markings, cable, drain hose, accessories, labels, cartons, barcodes, instructions, logos, and private-label packaging.

Can I request a sample before placing a wholesale order?

Qualified buyers can request samples to evaluate copper dimensions, flaring, insulation, accessories, printing, and packaging. Sample quantity, availability, and freight terms should be confirmed with the sales team.

What are the available payment, shipping, and lead-time terms?

Payment methods may include T/T, letter of credit at sight, and other agreed options. Trade terms may include EXW, FOB, CFR, or CIF. Production time depends on specification, quantity, packaging, material availability, and the confirmed factory schedule.
